With the publication of the Mineral Resources Law and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals’ commitment to attracting mining investments, Oman Vision 2040’s mining sector offers a world potential economic basis.
The exploration of oman’s minerals and the identification of their uses, together with actions such as the completion and development of Oman’s geological, geophysical and geochemical maps, Oman aims to increase the contribution of mining to the gross domestic product (GDP) and to maximize the benefits of the available resources with the primary objective of diversifying the sources of national income and capturing large quantities of minerals.
